Chinese Crested: World’s Ugliest Dog Contest’s favorite!

June 20th is the ugliest dog day! 🤪🐶 On this day of every year, dogs that have different features than your normal fluff of cloud will be celebrated for their uniqueness! There’s even a contest! But please remember that every dog deserves to be loved no matter how they look! ❤️

World’s Ugliest Dog Day is only a name but there’s also an annual contest that is held in Petaluma, California, as part of the Sonoma-Marin fair 🎪, to decide which of the dogs entered in the contest is the ‘ugliest’. The winner will receive $1,600 and a free trip to Newyork! 🗽

As everyone in the fair knows, Chinese Crested dogs are front runners of every contest. According to statistics, this breed has been owning this title for more than 22 times since the 70s’, such as Sweepee Rambo, the 2016 winner, Mugly (IG: @muglytheuglydog), the 2012 winner, Yoda, the 2011 winner, Princess Abby, the 2010 winner and more have won. 👑

Even though this event is called World’s Ugliest Dog Contest, it’s mainly there to showcase these dog’s uniquenesse and specialty. It also helps dog owners appreciate their paw friends more, even if these dogs are not deemed ‘cute’ by society standards. After all, everyone should realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder! ✨🐶
