Loy Kratong is a celebration in Thailand held on the full moon of November in the traditional calendar. Since the 14th century, Thais have been giving thanks and paying respect to Phra Mae Kong Kha, or the water goddess for all she has given. Loy Kratong can be celebrated anywhere, and you will see people gathering around different bodies of water such as rivers, canals, ponds, and even pools!
